Custom Programs for Schools & Groups

To further our mission of developing a lifelong commitment to compassionate, and responsible leadership, the Louis August Jonas Foundation is eager to work with schools and educational groups to design custom learning experiences at our Rhinebeck campus during the academic school year.

Our facilities at Camp Rising Sun, located in beautiful Dutchess County in Hudson Valley, New York State, provide a welcoming, inclusive atmosphere for students of all ages. The spirit of Camp is felt by students even in the off-season through our beautiful camper-created murals and projects found across campus.

Programs can be customized around a variety of topics and activities, including: team building, project management, peer-led instructions and public speaking, beaver ecosystems, science of maple syrup, and wilderness skills like outdoor shelter, bear bags, fire building, compass orienteering, artistic expression in nature, and more. All of our experiential learning activities are designed to develop decision-making, organizational, and problem-solving skills while strengthening notions of teamwork, leadership and group identity. Contact us to speak with a program specialist about your students’ specific interests and needs.

Programs for schools and student groups are available from September thru May. Our property is also available to rent for overnight retreats, group camping, and other events for your school or student group. If you are interested in a site-only rental for your upcoming school or group activity, please visit our private events page or contact our Business Manager at business@lajf.org.
