There are a number of ways to support LAJF that can be tax advantageous today and hugely impactful to CRS — both now and later.

A Gift Now…

Stock Gifts

Gifts of appreciated publicly traded securities like stocks or bonds will help you avoid capital gains taxes.

Inherited IRA Distribution

If you have inherited IRA from a loved one who has passed on, new rules require that it be spent down within a ten-year period. It may be helpful to your current financial situation to use such funds to support your charitable goals by contributing from this inheritance to LAJF.

IRA Required Minimum Distribution

For those over 72 1⁄2, you can direct your RMD or a portion of it directly to LAJF. As a result, you will receive a tax benefit for that amount.

a gift later…

Join our legacy society, the Freddie Jonas Society, by including LAJF in your long-term estate plans. This way, you protect your assets, while also investing in the future of CRS.

Estate Bequests

Including LAJF in your will is a way to support CRS in perpetuity. Please let us know if you have already included LAJF in your will and/or would be interested in adding a codicil to your existing estate plans.

Gifts of Life Insurance

Did you know that by making LAJF a beneficiary of a current life insurance plan or a new policy you can help future campers and your taxable situation, either now or later?

There are also a number of trust options — Charitable Remainder Annuity Trusts, Unitrusts, and Lead Trusts — which can provide current income as well as long term support for LAJF.

Your gift, NOW or LATER, ensures that CRS will continue to impact future generations.

Including CRS in my estate plans is one way I actively ensure the longevity of this camp that has meant so much to me. As Camp Rising Sun forges ahead, impacting future generations of young leaders, we have the privilege to be part of its ongoing evolution.”
— Bill Dubey, CRS 1941-1943, LAJF Executive Director 1977-1986
